The 2000 U.S. Census:

The U.S. Census of 2000 reported a disability rate of more than TWENTY PERCENT, and growing. Thats more than ONE out of every FIVE Americans whose daily life is limited by a serious disability, right now today!

Current projections indicate that the population level of those with disabilities severe enough to impair their activities will grow to about TWENTY-FIVE percent by the year 2020.

Note: The Census Bureau is currently updating their website to be in compliance with new Section 508 Federal Accessibility Standards. Consequently, many of their documents have been relocated.
